Description
JAV 113 Great Organ Builders, Volume 8 Stuart Forster
Dvoraks New World Symphony, arranged by Forster, is simply ravishing, and a very appropriate choice to honor Skinners life-long quest of creating an instrument emulating the expressive potential of the orchestra. With Opus 820, we witness Skinner re-asserting his individual style, while coming to terms with G. Donald Harrisons plans to make fundamental changes in the artistic direction of the Skinner style. This organ is the finest remaining unaltered example of Skinners mature style, and Forster knows how to make it sing. His transcription of Percy Graingers "Blithe Bells" is an absolute delight.
